The Housing Secretary, known in full as the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, is an official within the Government of the United Kingdom and head of the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government. The office is a cabinet-level position. The position of Housing Secretary is currently held by Mainline421, who was appointed to the role by Prime Minister Saracen's Fez on 15th November 2020.
The responsibilities of the Housing Secretary include overseeing: building regulations, decentralisation, fire services, housing, local government, planning, race equality, and urban regeneration.
The Housing Secretary often works closely with the Secretary of State for the Home Department due to the overlap between their respective roles.
